Penthouse Suites in Times Square

Aura Hotel Times Square has two penthouses: The Garland, a 900 sq ft suite, and The Marquee, at 550-600 sq ft. Both are top-floor rooms with one king bed and a sofa bed, sleeping up to four guests, at 120 W 44th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.

What are the two penthouses at Aura?

There are two, both on the top floor and both bookable by name through our reservations system.

• The Garland - 900 sq ft, one king bed and a sofa bed, sleeps four. The larger of the two, with a separate living area.
• The Marquee - 550 to 600 sq ft, one king bed and a sofa bed, sleeps four. Same top-floor position, a tighter footprint.

Both are corner-style layouts with the higher ceilings you only get on the top floor. Room inventory is marked PTH in our booking engine.

How does a penthouse compare with a standard room here?

Aura has 234 rooms across the building. Standard rooms are built for two people and a short stay; the penthouses are the only category that gives you a living space separate from the bed, which is the difference that matters when you are travelling as three or four, or when someone in the group needs to work while the others sleep.

Who books a penthouse in Times Square?

Three groups, mostly:

• Celebrations. Birthdays, anniversaries and proposals, where the room is part of the occasion. The top floor and the extra space do more for that than any amenity list.
• Families of four. One king for the parents and a sofa bed for children, which avoids booking two rooms and splitting the group across floors.
• Business travellers bringing a partner. A separate living area turns into a desk and a call room without the bed being in shot.

What is included in the penthouse rate?

Same inclusions as every other room, which is worth stating plainly because New York hotel fees are where budgets drift:

• Free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the building
• Access to the fitness centre, including Peloton bikes
• A nightly destination fee of $35 plus tax, which covers the Wi-Fi and a welcome drink at The Long Room
• Gatsby's Landing and The Long Room on the ground floor, both open to guests

Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is 11am. Guests must be 21 or over to check in. Pets are welcome at $150 per pet, up to two. There are no rollaway beds, which is why the sofa bed matters for a party of four.
